As a Senior NatCat Parametric Underwriter, you'll be at the forefront of Swiss Re's parametric insurance evolution, combining technical expertise with commercial acumen to develop, underwrite, and market parametric solutions for natural catastrophe risks globally

Key Responsibilities

• Swiss Re's NatCat parametric portfolio with a focus on sustainable growth
• Manage and develop
• parametric covers for earthquake, tropical cyclone, and flood risks
• Underwrite and price
• sophisticated weather and remote sensing parametric solutions

Structure and cost

• Swiss Re NatCat parametric products to clients and brokers
• with treaty clients and brokers to understand their needs and tailor solutions
• and standardization of Swiss Re's parametric product offerings in collaboration with peers in cat modeling
• by developing parametric tools, conducting trainings, and facilitating global adoption
• Enhance tools and capabilities

The Parametric Center of Excellence operates within Global Specialty – Agriculture & Parametric and is embedded in the P&C Reinsurance Business Units. Our team is committed to innovation and developing cutting-edge approaches to address complex risk challenges through data-driven parametric products

About You

• You're an innovative thinker who combines technical expertise with commercial awareness. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about developing data-driven solutions to complex risk challenges. Your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly makes you effective with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• University degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics or other suitable Environmental Sciences
• Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience in pricing NatCat parametric products
• Solid understanding of reinsurance underwriting principles and pricing methodologies
• Practical experience working with satellite imagery and meteorological datasets
• Track record in marketing and selling (re)insurance or parametric products
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in parametric insurance
• Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated data science capabilities
• Programming expertise in Python and/or R
• Experience in catastrophe modeling
• Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
• Additional language fluency beyond excellent English communication skills

• For Switzerland, the for this position is between CHF 132,000 and CHF 198,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• base salary range
