      Senior Lead - Procurement Category Management, Logistics

      We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Lead - Logistics Procurement Category Manager to join the Global Logistics Procurement Team in Zurich. Our Global Logistics Procurement is responsible for procurement of inbound transportation, contract logistics, distribution/outbound and other logistics services. The team is part of the larger Global Supply Chain Team

      Your Mission

      • Manage the end-to-end category strategy, deliver On’s logistics goals through the procurement of freight service and contract logistics
      • Serve as Senior Management level escalation for any repeated commercial and operational issues with logistics vendors
      • Develop, align and execute a global parcels/last mile/courier sourcing roadmap with key stakeholders to achieve P&L savings and procurement value
      • Proactively contribute to the category's strategical development and collaborate closely with On's Supply Chain teams and external partners
      • Responsible for creating and driving procurement added value to enhance the logistics procurement global strategy (cost, risks, compliance, etc.)
      • Leading sourcing activities related to parcel (B2B and B2C) and pallet outbound transportation will be a key component in daily responsibilities. - Projects can be also related to other transport modes and contract logistics. The Leader will be accountable to: finetuning requirements, prepare, analyse, award, and also evaluate and (re-)negotiate contracts
      • Work closely with the Distribution and Logistics Teams on delivering new procurement standards for outbound flows (last mile delivery, parcels, returns, LTL, B2C, B2B, etc.) as a main responsibility
      • Collaborate with Global Inbound Transportation Team to drive procurement improvements on global inbound transportation flows (ocean, air, road, FCL, LTL, etc.)
      • Collaborate with Distribution and Logistics Teams on delivering new procurement standards for logistics contracts, if needed
      • Interact with many internal stakeholders to co-lead and support procurement transformation (legal, finance, controlling, customs, R&D, supply chain, etc.)
      • Procurement work is a people business therefore the mission is to build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient procurement processes
      • Prepare, manage, analyse and award RFPs/bids for contract renewals and new projects
      • Support developing new procurement requirements and standards
      • Provide logistics procurement market intelligence, supplier research and financial analysis required to evaluate procurement business cases
      • Support continuous improvement, corrective actions, and escalation initiatives with logistics providers
      • Responsible for monitoring supply chain and logistics costs and advising where negotiation, corrective actions and/or freight tenders are required

      Your story

      • You have significant experience in logistics procurement and strategic sourcing (min. of 6 years) in parcels/last mile transportation procurement on global or regional level with significant freight spend (a must) and additionally experience managing logistics (min. 4 years)
      • Direct responsibility for transportation budgeting and contracting for at least 4 years
      • Ideally, you have experience with contract logistics (warehousing) procurement
      • You have the ability to act independently and have a continuous improvement mindset
      • You have proficiency in Google tools/Microsoft Office applications especially Google sheets and slides (PowerPoint and Excel)
      • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insightful recommendations to management for data-driven decision making
      • You feel comfortable with interfacing with senior management, suppliers and have strong written and verbal communications skills
      • You are experienced with managing complex projects and drive transformation change with very strong strategic mindset
      • You thrive in a dynamic environment and can manage ambiguity
      • You have excellent time management skills and the ability to work with multiple deadlines
      • You are fluent in English, other languages are a plus
