Key Accountabilities

• The Portfolio Underwriter will independently underwrite case and non-case business for SME Portfolio
• Have influence in shaping their portfolio
• With a reasonable level of Underwriting Authority and a strong understanding of how is the portfolio fits into the broader Underwriting strategy
• To conduct in-depth portfolio analysis to assess portfolio performance and identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities, and make strategic recommendations on how to approach these, taking into account market dynamics
• To work closely with actuaries, claims professionals, and other departments to ensure portfolio strategy aligns with broader company objectives
• To work with intermediaries to negotiate terms, gather feedback and gauge market dynamics
• They will identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing accounts to drive business growth through new and existing distribution channels
• They will provide valuable input in relation to portfolio strategy, product development and system enhancements
• They will support with the development of other Underwriters
