For our legal entity Vontobel Swiss Financial Advisers (Vontobel SFA), a US licensed Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), we are looking for a person to help us maintain excellent compliance in regulatory tax. In your role as a US Tax Specialist, you will closely work together with the Head of Tax, Client Relationship Managers and the head of Group Tax

What would your role be?

• Tax Reclaim (being first service contact for third-party providers)
• Assist in client data maintenance, mutation, controls (account openings, account closings, static data adjustments and controls)
• Assist Head Tax in Regulatory Reporting (1099, 1042, 1042-S, FATCA, AEI)
• Client tax reporting (US + Swiss Tax Statements)
• Tax cost-basis adjustments (security transfers, accounting method changes, death cases)
• Data controls, reconciliations
• Supplementary Withholding Tax Reporting to ESTV (USA, Canada) and transactional tax reporting (FTT)

What are we looking for?

• At least four years of practical working experience in the above topics, with a focus on tax reclaim, either in the financial services industry or a consulting/audit company
• Excellent working knowledge of FATCA/QI and AEI regimes
• Understanding of the banking business
• Very good written and spoken German and English
• Exposure to US-specific tax reporting advantageous
• Experience working with Avaloq and expert knowledge with excel beneficial
