Job purpose:

• We are seeking a FAR Expert to join our team for a 1.5-year temporary assignment with one of our stakeholders based in France. In this engaging role, you will work closely with the France FAR Controller and CFO, as well as local process owners and suppliers across Finance. You will support the delivery of general accounting daily processing, month-end closing activities, and financial reporting to ensure compliance with business objectives, Zurich Group Accounting Policy, regulatory requirements, and local policies
• This position also offers the opportunity to identify and implement improvements and automation initiatives within financial processes. Responsibilities:

• Support for FAR Controller and CFO in various financial topics
• Provide Group and external reporting (BS, P&L, Supplementary information to financial statement, Taxes) – according to IFRS and other GAAP (e.g. German GAAP, French GAAP, Solvency II, SST GAAP)
• Understand and explain GAAP to GAAP differences
• Understand Tax calculations, perform Tax walkthrough analysis and produce tax memo summary, prepare OECD adjustments for Group Tax
• Review various closing activities e.g. maintenance of interfaces to sub ledger, control over open items, non-life reserving submission
• Support/collaborate in various projects such as the analysis and implementation of Group Chart of Accounts changes, SAP HANA tactical upgrade, replacement of transactional system
• Be actively involved in the implementation of small to medium project efforts and supporting the accounting operation
• Documenting and updating process changes to reflect current processes and contributing to continuous improvement
• Prepare complex analysis and provide input for annual reporting (QRT, statistical accounts)
• Understand ICFR Zurich framework, execute controls and advise on those to the less experienced Team Members
• Support Group and external audit for different GAAP
• Acting as the technical & subject matter expert in general accounting principles, by conducting Account Reconciliation reviews and initiating changes to ensure the quality of the balance and financial records
• Coordination between Cracow Team and French Team on operational day-to-day and ad hoc activities
• Knowledge and understanding of IFRS
• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area AND Experience using accounting and treasury principles
• Knowledge and experience with IFRS
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting principles
• Strong analytical skill with ability to summarize and present the results
• Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills
• Microsoft Office experience – intermediate to advanced (power tool is a plus)
• English language skills – spoken and written at fluent level
• French language skills is a plus
