About Our Client

Our client is an international organization with HQ in the Zurich area, we are looking for a seasoned Head of Accounting to join their Swiss organization ASAP for around 3-6 months. You will be in charge of the local accounting and in charge of guiding and managing an experienced team, helping them navigate the upcoming audit among other tasks.

Job Description

• Oversee daily accounting and reporting activities for Swiss entities
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings under Swiss GAAP (and IFRS where relevant)
• Prepare the team and processes for the upcoming audit, act as the main contact for auditors, and ensure a smooth audit cycle from planning to completion
• Manage core processes across R2R, P2P, O2C and intercompany transactions
• Support statutory accounts, VAT handling, and tax-related accounting topics
• Maintain internal controls and contribute to process improvements, including SAP-related enhancements
• Provide hands-on leadership and structure to the accounting team during the transition phase

The Successful Applicant

• Solid accounting experience gained in a Swiss corporate or headquarters environment
• Swiss qualification such as CPA, Experte/Expertin in Rechnungslegung und Controlling (or comparable) a big plus
• Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER and familiarity with IFRS
• Experience working with shared services or in complex operational setups is beneficial
• Confident in managing and navigating external audits, including preparation, coordination, and follow-up
• Strong SAP knowledge and interest in further optimizing processes
• Pragmatic, reliable working style with strong analytical capabilities
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
