We are looking for a highly skilled Applied Scientist to join our fast-growing team. In this role, you will drive the development, optimization, and scale-up of our core technology, Haelixa’s DNA-based marker. Reporting directly to the CSO, you will play a central role in advancing our science into real-world applications and ensuring technical excellence in every stage of product development
Design and execute complex development projects in colloidal and surface chemistry, from concept through delivery
Develop, optimize, and scale up protocols for particle synthesis, surface modification, and product stabilization
Lead laboratory work on particle surface functionalization and product formulation
Characterize colloidal systems using advanced analytical and surface characterization methods
Translate laboratory-scale findings into scalable, reproducible production processes
Monitor, track, and report progress, risks, and deliverables directly to the CSO
Contribute to building a strong scientific culture while supporting the team in delivering outstanding products
Your Profile
PhD in Colloidal Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (or MSc & relevant experience)
Proven expertise and hands-on experience in micro/nanoparticle synthesis, functionalization, and characterization
Solid understanding of colloidal stability, solution chemistry, and analytical techniques
Strong background in DNA chemistry and/or DNA-based nanoparticles is a plus
Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute complex experimental programs with high precision
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
Passion for working in a start-up environment, with flexibility, energy, and drive
