Join our team as an Access Network Engineer and play a key role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining our fixed access network infrastructure. We are looking for a skilled and solution-oriented professional with expertise in DOCSIS and PON technologies to ensure high-performance connectivity for our customers. This role offers exciting challenges, autonomy, and the opportunity to drive innovation in network architecture and service quality.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

• Engineering and development of the Sunrise fixed access network (DOCSIS and PON)
• Platform responsibility of the DOCSIS fixed access network
• Introduction of the new virtualized DOCSIS Platform for multigigabit fixed access broadband services
• Designing and executing proof-of-concept and regression testing as well as troubleshooting with focus on vCCAP, Remote-PHY and I-CMTS devices
• Support projects pertaining to the Sunrise data network (e.g. lifecycle projects, network upgrades, network redesign etc.)
• Support for Access Operations

YOUR SKILLS:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in working in Network Engineering teams for a telecommunications provider or vendor
• Skills and knowledge about the management, configuration and commissioning of network elements
• Comprehensive knowledge of IP networks and Routing in an ISP (Internet Service Provider) environment
• Good knowledge of Linux CLI and scripting in python
• Strong analytical skills, ability to capture and translate internal customer needs into technical requirements and solutions, and to abstract and explain complex technical subjects.
• Structured and responsible approach to designing solutions, good documentation authoring skills
• Fluency in spoken German. Fluency in spoken and written English
