      Performing Arts teacher

      Provide the basic functions of the website;

      Learning and Teaching

      • Plan and prepare learning engagements for the Performing Arts: music, dance and drama for classes from Grade 1 to 5
      • Teach music, dance and drama theory and terminology through an exploratory, inquiry approach informed by the ICS Scope and Sequence
      • Create units which teach students physical and spatial awareness, use of body to express artistic ideas, musicality, choreography skills, stage presentation, acting styles, character development, personal projection etc
      • Involve students in broader aspects of music, dance and drama such as designing, props, choosing music, developing stage settings
      • Research, develop, purchase and adapt learning materials and make imaginative use of resources
      • Support the ‘Culture of Care’ by developing a positive prosocial learning environment where all students feel welcomed, significant and emotionally safe
      • Support the yearly productions
      • Collaborate with Homeroom Teacher about issues of concern related to student welfare, achievement and behaviour
      • Attend Parent/Teacher/Student and Student-led conferences
      • Attend meetings for planning and administration
      • The Performing Arts teacher is expected to contribute to the extracurricular activities of the school and be involved in school development

      Professional development

      • Keep up to date with IBO philosophy and curriculum development and implement change in keeping with the school vision and strategic focus
      • Be involved in professional learning activities that support the school and systematic priorities such as working groups, study groups
      • Engage in the school's professional growth process

      The successful candidate will have:

      • Bachelor’s degree and current teaching qualification in Performing Arts and/or Dance and/or Music Education
      • a minimum of 2 years of relevant classroom teaching experience in international schools and knowledge of PYP program is advantageous
      • English as a first language (native proficiency)
      • Strong classroom management, organizational, and technology integration skills

      demonstrate knowledge of the developmental needs of children of 6-11 years
